Almost every day, we are all faced with a "smart combinations" of Wickeder Westfalenstahl. One of the most famous examples - is the core of the Euro coins, which uses one of our plated materials. But there are other well-known products, such as medals, ball and sockets for lamps, which are made of materials that represent a combination of layers of steel and other metals and their alloys (copper (Cu), aluminum (Al), brass (CuZn37), red brass (CuZn10, CuZn15), nickel (Ni), bronze (CuSn6)).

Such materials are called simply - bimetal. As was mentioned above - they are composed of various metals and their alloys, whereby have unique properties (depending on whether the metal clad means). Bimetals were created in the first place in order to save scarce and expensive materials, as well as for materials with a new set of properties. But due to the fact that the basis of all bimetal - steel, they are highly durable. There are several ways to produce bimetal: hot rolling, pressing metal dip, electroplating, gas-thermal spraying and pouring a molten metal to another (more refractory).

  • CUFER represents a clad on one or both sides cold composite material that combines the processability and mechanical properties of the deep-drawn mild steel, high conductivity copper.

Standard sizes: Strip thickness: 0.2 - 3.2 mm / belt width: 20 - 630 mm / Length of sheets: 470 - 4,000 mm.

The thickness of the cladding layer as a percentage of 3% - 10%

Surface types: Normal (polished rolling), shiny, isotropic

Benefits at a glance:

     good strength
     Good electrical and thermal conductivity
     Price advantage compared with homogeneous copper
     Lower specific weight than that of a homogeneous copper.

 

  • FERAN represents a clad on one or both sides cold composite material that combines the processability and mechanical properties of the deep-drawn mild unalloyed steel with mechanical and aesthetic properties of aluminum.

Standard sizes: strip thickness: 0.08 - 3.5 mm / belt width: 20 - 800 mm / width> 780 mm - only with untrimmed edge / length of sheets: 470 - 4,000 mm.

The thickness of the cladding layer as a percentage of 3% - 10%

Surface types: normal (rolling polished), polished rolling

  • BRAFER is a cold rolled composite material clad on one or both sides, which combines the machinability and mechanical properties of low-carbon steel with a deep-drawn decorative and physical properties of brass.

  • TOMFER is a clad on one or both sides cold composite material that combines the workability and mechanical properties of low-carbon alloy steel deep-drawn with mechanical and decorative properties of red brass.

TOMFER comes in strips, the surface of which can be a brilliant standard and isotropic (about the characteristics in more detail can be found in the appendix).

Standard sizes: Strip thickness: 0.2 - 2.5 mm / belt width: 20 - 630 mm / Cutting Length: 1000 - 2000 mm.

The thickness of cladding layers, constitute a standard thickness of 5 or 10% of the tape thickness, alternatively query other sizes are available.

     Responds well to gilding and enameling.
     High strength.

 

  • NIFER - is a cold-composite material clad on one or both sides, which combines the workability and strength properties of deep-drawn low-carbon steel with decorative and physical properties of nickel.

Standard sizes: Strip thickness: 0.2 - 2.5 mm / belt width: 20 - 630 mm / Layers (in% of the width of the tape) - 3% - 10%.

Due to the properties of nickel bimetal NIFER has the following advantages:

     high strength
     corrosion resistance
     High heat resistance (due to the fact that the melting point of nickel is 1455 ° C)
     Does not react with acids such as sulfuric, phosphoric, hydrofluoric acid and several others.

 

  • BRONFER is a cold-composite material clad on one or both sides, which combines the workability and strength properties of deep-drawn low-carbon steel with decorative and physical properties of bronze.

Standard sizes: Strip thickness: 0.2 - 2.5 mm / belt width: 20 - 600 mm / Layers (in% of the width of the tape) - 5% - 15%.

Due to the properties of nickel bimetal BRONFER has the following advantages:

     high strength
     corrosion resistance
     Good thermal properties.
